Writing in Public, Building in the Open
Why I'm starting to document how I build AI agents — in writing and on video — instead of letting the work disappear into private repos.
The video above is a placeholder — replace the youtube: id in this file's frontmatter with your own video, or delete the line to hide it.
I've built a lot of things that no one ever saw. Client work under NDA, side projects that shipped and got quietly retired, systems that solved genuinely hard problems and then lived only in a private repo. For years I treated the building as the whole job.
It isn't. The building is half the job. The other half is making the work legible — so the right people can find it, understand it, and decide to work with me.
So I'm changing how I operate:
- Write the thing down. Every non-trivial problem I solve becomes a post. Not marketing — actual engineering, with the tradeoffs and the numbers.
- Show it on video. Some things are clearer in motion than in prose. Posts here will pair with short walkthroughs.
- Build in the open where I can, so the proof is public instead of locked away.
If that sounds useful to you, subscribe to the writing, watch the videos, and reach out if you're building something I can help with. This is post one.
